Investigating and Prosecuting Human Rights Violations

OVERVIEW

From June 25-29, Global New Orleans hosted a group of international experts to explore how law enforcement, legal professionals, and government officials investigate and address human rights violations. Through a series of meetings, site visits, and case studies, participants examined how investigations, litigation, and verdicts are conducted to hold perpetrators accountable. The program also highlighted the collaboration between public and private sector experts and explored both judicial and non-judicial mechanisms, such as truth commissions and national human rights commissions, that are used to address abuses at the national and international levels.
